Snickerdoodles

1 c shortening
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt

2 T sugar
2 T cinnamon

Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift flour (or not, I never sift it), cream of tartar, soda and salt; add to first mixture. Mix well. Form into 1 inch balls and roll in mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Back at 400 for 8 to 10 minutes.
