piercings...

So...my sister got a nose ring...and I think that is really cool, I have always wanted one but never did. I have never been shy on getting piercings, had my ears pierced a number of times...like 9 times...two of those were re-dos...got my belly button pierced...a painful but satisfying time since they were SO not allowed at school but who was going to find out right! But the nose, always held back for some reason...not sure why I always waited on that. Now I am married and my husband doesn't think that they are all that cool...I think I missed out on my chance to get one. I'm jealous...have fun with your decorated nose Letha, my nose pails in comparison.

Vacation 2009...

For Doug's vacation week this year, we decided to go cross country to visit his dad and stepmom...because we were able to find tickets for cheaper than it would have been to drive, we got to do some traveling while we were in that part of the country! Enjoy some of our pictures!
Here we are at the Portland airport EARLY in the morning waiting for our flight! Doug and I were facinated with the legos in the airport...he entertained himself for a while building with them...
Taking pictures of our feet and our reflection in the windows kept us busy for a while...
Off we go...
Once we were there, we enjoyed a couple of days with his Dad and Jan, here is Doug and his Dad checking out all the plants and things in the yard...We enjoyed some beautiful Missouri sunsets... And a few card games...
Here we all are...
Doug and his Dad...
After a few days visiting, we began our road trip portion of our vacation and headed for Jackson, TN...(with one quick detour to Sikeston, MO)Doug in front of Lambert's, home of the throwed rolls...we couldn't pass this up!! Wow, that is a ton of food!
Doug and his pork chops...yummmy!I realize now that none of these pictures show the rolls...they were there I promise, we ate SO many of them!!!Full and happy, we headed off to Tennessee...

More pictures to come...I have to go sit by a fan, I can't believe that it is almost ten at night in Washinton state and I am sitting in 90 degrees in my house!

Fourth of July...

We had a fun filled fourth of July this year. Of course, because we celebrate everything, we were excited to celebrate a holiday for the second time together! We enjoyed our year of 'firsts' and are thrilled to begin celebrating a year of 'seconds'!
Although we didn't get pictures from the first part of our day, we enjoyed walking around the lake, meeting up with friends and eating yummy 'fair food'. In the afternoon, we walked over to our nephew's house for a bar-b-que with Doug's side of the family. Once we realized, after walking a few blocks past his house that we had gone to far, we were pretty tired! (The picture above was taken right about where we were supposed to turn...but I guess we were distracted) We were hot from all that walking, so we broke out the water guns...Our M.I.B. picture...And finally, the fireworks...
