Raw Apple Cake

1 c raisins
1/4 c water
2 T vinegar
1/2 c shortening
2 eggs
2 c sugar
4 c diced apples, sprinkled with salt
2 c flour
2 tsp soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 c chopped nuts

Boil raisins in water and vinegar. Stir until they take up all the water. Let cool before using.

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add apples and raisins. Mix dry ingredients and add to batter. Beat well. Needs no liquid. Bake in loaf pan at 350 for 45 minutes.
